Anywhooo. I digress. I made this dress in less than 2 hours. For who? My 3 year old neighbor. Why? Because her parents invited us to her 3 year old birthday party with a less than 24 hour notice and I couldn't just show up with nothing and eat their food and drink their wine. I wasn't raised that way for pity's sake.
Did I make this pattern up on my own? Heavens NO! I can barely follow a store bought pattern without ripping a few seams and half of my hair out. I don't understand sewing terminology. Shocker, I know! I have to seriously research the wacko terms and read the directions 10x before even starting (... more about that later when I write about the dress I made Paige last week... from a cheapy store bought pattern.)
This is why I love online tutorials. I found this one and, BAM! DONE! Super easy to follow with a quality end product. (I love the way she finishes all of her seams, too):
The Mother Huddle: Fat Quarter Pillowcase Dress Tutorial
It was a great way to use my pretty fabric stash that I stare at all the time - especially when I was in a pinch to make a great gift. But it was so fun to pick out fabrics and so easy to put together that I now need to make a few for Paige. I haven't been this excited about sewing something in a long time. Can you tell? Bing-bong-yippee!
