|My new blanket design - "Sash Blanket" made with designer fabrics|
I really, really love how fabric designers create a collection where all the prints and colors coordinate and refer to one another... and it has always been hard for me to just choose one print out of an entire fabric collection to make a blanket with. I want to use them ALL!!!
So I created a simple, contemporary way to utilize a collection of coordinating prints to make one blanket without making it so complicated that it takes me 40 hours to complete. I would also like to differentiate my Ginger Freckle baby blankets from the other handmade baby blankets found on Etsy... and I think that this new "sash blanket" is a great way to do that.
"In My Room" line that came out a few months ago and I think it turned out awesome-possom! The earthy tones are right up my alley, love the pops of girly color, but it's still soft and warmy for a baby. Perfect napping size, too: 40" x 40" - and I finished the edges with a handmade bias tape quilt binding.
I'm looking for opinions! What do you think of this Sash Blanket design? Have you seen someone making blankets like this elsewhere? (I haven't... but I don't have a staff to stalk the internet for me either) Is it too busy or crafty looking? Would you do anything different? Thanks in advance!
